Job Description

Coffman Engineers is seeking a Commissioning Engineer for our Anchorage office. The preferred candidate will be a self-motivated, energetic team player with 5+ years of commissioning experience. Coffman's Anchorage Office offers a small firm work environment with large firm opportunities.

In this role you will provide commissioning services to our clients in a variety of work sectors including healthcare, state and federal government, corrections, education, and industrial. These services include planning the commissioning processes for mechanical, electrical, and building systems; developing commissioning plans and specifications; and leading the commissioning team including owners, designers, technicians, and contractors. There is also an expectation that the person in this role will be heavily involved with the marketing of commissioning services.

Qualifications
  • 10+ years as a registered engineer with building construction design background in HVAC, Electrical and/or Controls
    • 5+ years of this experience in Total Building Commissioning is preferred
  • Familiarity with applicable ASHRAE, ACG, and NEBB guidelines as they relate to Total Building Commissioning
  • Certified as a professional commissioning provider by national organization (ACG, ASHRAE, NEBB, BCxA, UoW), or willingness to get certified with company support
  • Experienced in inspecting, testing, and TAB processes for mechanical and electrical building systems
  • Using project plans and specifications as a basis for preparing commissioning documents
  • Business development and commissioning department growth
  • Mentorship of commissioning assistants and trainees
  • Desire to lead inter-disciplinary projects and project teams
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Travelling to provide support at remote job sites, travel is approx. 25%
  • Valid driver's license and driving record that meets Coffman's stringent requirements are required
