Overview

Dedicated to serving those who defend the US and warfighters, Nisga'a MOSTT offers Military Operations support and Specialized Tactical Training (MOSTT). Nisga'a MOSTT's services include aviation and military training, cybersecurity, intelligence gathering and analysis, and simulation and exercise support, as well as aviation flight logistics support and unmanned aerial vehicle support.

Summary:

We are looking for Data Education Instructor/Writers to support the Army Sustainment University (ASU) contract. ASU's objective is to provide training development and platform training, and providing mobile training team, and updates to programs of instruction modernization in support of the Unified Action in support of Large-Scale Combat Operations and Multi Domain Operations, the U.S. Army Learning Concept for Training and Education 2020-2040 (ALC-TE), and future sustainment Warfighter Functions initiatives. This position will interface and interact with other instructors; Department of Defense (DOD) contractors, military members, and Department of the Army (DA) Civilians.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

    Providing data literacy and the means to understand and create descriptive analysis using data. This level includes concepts such as: data literacy, spreadsheet fundamentals, pivot tables & charts, data wrangling, data visualization (histograms, box plots, scatter plots, etc.), and descriptive statistics (mean, variation, quantiles, etc.).
  • Shall train and deliver instructions using web accessible applications/software, the use of ALU Blackboard and collaboration enablers (i.e. Microsoft Teams, Defense Collaboration Services (DCS), ZOOM) will be used to facilitate training in a Distance Learning (DL) virtual environment. Instructional capabilities must supplement sustainment capability phase training to meet ASU training missions. Hours and courses will be distributed and identified in training schedules published weekly in addition to the yearly/monthly forecast of the training requirements.
  • Provide comprehensive introduction and overview of critical Data tools supporting data-driven decision making. The instructor/writer will perform platform (lecture) and hands-on instructions executed IAW with Data Education Strategy published schedules.
  • Teach and develop training in advanced application programs in associated POI modules for ASU's Data Education Strategy.
  • Revise/updated training lesson plans and practical exercises IAW the software impact to the training operational environment.
  • Shall use Government provided and approved course materials, technical manuals, and student workbooks, when teaching or providing training. The Government will provide the materials in sufficient quantities to conduct the course IAW TRADOC standards delineated in SOPs.
  • Shall document and submit class situations, such as absences, lack of individual or group participation, or other unusual situations that adversely affect student performance, to the COR following each class.
Qualifications

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

  • Instructors must have a strong foundation in statistics, mathematics, or data analysis and remain flexible as the ASU data education program is established and adapts to feedback received from operational units throughout the Army.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite. Microsoft software will be the primary tool used to process data and display analysis but that may change over time as tools to process data becomes more advanced and democratized across the operational Army.
  • Possess the prerequisite skills and knowledge to teach basic and advanced data analysis using both Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Power Business Intelligence on various sizes of data sets.
  • Must be competent in data cleaning/wrangling, visualization, summary statistics, analysis of variance (ANOVA), regression, and communicating data analysis to decision makers.
  • Must also be able to adapt their existing knowledge of data driven decision making to new tools and processes that may be presented within the U.S. Army's framework of data analysis.
  • Possess excellent communication skills both verbal and written.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must have had at least one semester of undergraduate statistics at an accredited college or university in Upper-level courses are those at the 300-level and 400-level.
    • Consideration may be given to those who may have had graduate courses in mathematics, data analysis / science or who have completed multiple relevant certifications (i.e. Lean Six Sigma) and can demonstrate competence with teaching the proposed curriculum.
  • Must have experience with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Power Business Intelligence.
  • Must be able to pass a background check successfully.
  • Must be a US citizen.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field of study

The salary range for this position is $56,000 to $66,000 per year, DOE.
